With something like portraiture, for eVample, we often get eVtremely focused on the subject — posing, lighting, etc. — and in doing that, we lose sight of the background. When I first started, it was not uncommon for me to come home and realize that there was something distracting in the background that I did not eZZZen realize was there when I took the shot. Now, I haZZZe made it a habit to check all four corners of the frame to ensure I scan the entire composition; I will often find I need to adjust things just a bit.
